More showers, June 9

The ridge of high pressure that has kept the East Texas area dry for a number of days has finally been shunted well to the south, and is no longer capable of prohibiting rainfall. Additional showers and thunderstorms will be in the cards today, any one of which could produce severe weather. The main severe weather concern will be for large hail and strong straight line winds. Rainfall totals during the next five to seven days will run in the 1- to 2-inch range, with isolated higher amounts.
