A local nonprofit has announced a new name and rebranding.
After 34 years of dedicated service to East Texas, Literacy Council of Tyler (LCOT) said it is proud to announce its new name: PAVE East Texas (Pathways for Adults Via Education).
“This change reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to providing educational support for adults across the region and highlights the six counties in East Texas that are served,” the organization stated in a press release released Monday morning.
The board of directors identified the need for a name that better represents the organization’s mission and the community it serves, which includes Smith, Cherokee, Anderson, Henderson, Van Zandt and Rains counties. PAVE East Texas highlights the dedication to expanding the reach and impact in East Texas while continuing to offer the same high-quality literacy and educational services.
The programs, currently available at 15 different locations, will remain accessible and free to all adults seeking to improve their education and career prospects.
To commemorate this milestone, PAVE East Texas will host a ribbon-cutting event on Tuesday, July 16 at 4 p.m. at Tyler Junior College West Campus/Regional Training and Development Complex. The organization invites the community to join in celebrating this exciting new chapter. Please RSVP to Bailey Nichols at bnichols@PAVEetx.org
As the organization approaches its 35th anniversary in 2025, this rebranding marks a significant milestone. PAVE East Texas said it is committed to educating, empowering, and equipping adults for brighter futures.
PAVE East Texas provides a variety of free educational programs for adults, including GED Preparation, English Language Services, Career Pathways, and more. For additional information, visit PAVEetx.org or call 903-533-0330.
