NORTHEAST

ATHENS: Water clear, 83-89 degrees; 3.48’ low. Black bass are fair on Shakyheads with green pumpkin finesse worms as well as weightless Senkos in same color. Crappie are fair on jigs. Catfish are good on trotlines and prepared bait.



BOB SANDLIN: Water clear; 83-87 degrees; 6.37’ low. Black bass are slow on Texas rigged Zoom U-Tail worms in green pumpkin. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on slabs and small crankbaits. Catfish are good on cut shad and shrimp.

*CADDO: Water stained; 84-88 degrees; 0.87’ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigged creature baits around stumps and vegetation. White and yellow bass are good on slabs and minnows. Catfish are good on trotlines and cut bait.

CEDAR CREEK: Water clear; 83-87 degrees; 5.30’ low. Black bass are fair on shakyheads around docks. Football jigs and deep diving crankbaits on deeper brush piles working later in the day. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are good on live shad and topwaters. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are good on trotlines and prepared bait.

COOPER: Water clear; 83-87 degrees; 10.21’ low. Black bass are fair on swimjigs in baitfish patterns. Crappie are fair on jigs. White bass are fair on slabs. Hybrid striper are good on live shad. Catfish are good on cut bait and trotlines.

FAIRFIELD: Fishing has been slow since the fish kill in September of 2010. TPWD has discontinued stocking the lake after another kill in early September 2011. Redfish and black bass survived the kill in limited numbers.

FORK: Water clear; 84-88 degrees; 5.23’ low. Black bass are fair on drop shots in 20-35’ of water near channel bends and brush piles. The shallow bite has been consistent throughout the day on Texas rigged LFT Flippers in black/blue. Channel swings in 2-6’ have been best. Yellow bass and white bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are good on minnows near bridges. Catfish are good on trotlines.

*LAKE O’ THE PINES: Water lightly stained; 83-87 degrees; 2.85’ low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigged creature baits. Some late evening topwater action noted. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on trotlines and cut shad.

MARTIN CREEK: Water clear; 84-88 degrees; 3.45’ low. Black bass are slow on weightless Senkos around shallow cover and hollow body frogs early in the day in the same areas. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are slow on slabs. Catfish are good on prepared bait and trotlines.

MONTICELLO: Water fairly clear; 83-88 degrees; 0.16’ high. Black bass are good on shad pattern squarebill crankbaits and swimjigs. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. Catfish are good on cut shad.

PALESTINE: Water clear; 83-87 degrees; 1.02’ low. Black bass are slow on shakyheads and weightless Flukes near docks and timber closest to deep water. Crappie are good on minnows. Hybrid striper are fair on slabs. White bass are fair on jigs and minnows. Catfish are good on cut bait.

RICHLAND CHAMBERS: Water clear; 84-88 degrees; 8.21’ low. Black bass are slow on medium crankbaits near brush piles in 8-10’. Topwater bite effective early and late. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are good on slabs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on prepared bait.

TAWAKONI: Water stained; 84-88 degrees; 7.07’ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigged creature baits rigged with heavier weights around shallow cover — black buzzbaits in early morning are effective as well. Crappie are good on minnows. White bass are good on slabs and minnows. Striped bass and hybrid striper are fair on slabs. Catfish are slow on cut bait and trotlines.

*TEXOMA: Water clear; 82-87 degrees; 0.42’ high. Black bass are slow on Texas rigged soft plastics near floating docks and any shallow cover in the first half of major creeks. Early morning topwater action is fair. Striped bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are good on trotlines.

WEATHERFORD: Water clear; 82-86 degrees; 6.47’ low. Black bass slow around docks and on deeper brush piles. Best bite has been midday. Shakyheads and drop shots have been working as well. No report on other species. Please call ahead as low water is making launching difficult.

*WRIGHT PATMAN: Water lightly stained; 83-88 degrees; 5.90’ high. Black bass are slow on Missile Baits D Bombs in black/blue fished slow around shallow cover. Crappie are good on jigs. Catfish are good on cut bait.

SOUTHEAST

CONROE: Water lightly stained; 84-88 degrees; 3.12’ low. Black bass are good on watermelon/white Carolina rigged soft plastics and Rat-L-Traps. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on stinkbait, liver, and nightcrawlers.

GIBBONS CREEK: Water clear. Black bass are fair on chartreuse/white Carolina rigged soft plastics, and on white Rat-L-Traps and spinnerbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on stinkbait, frozen shrimp, and perch.

HOUSTON COUNTY: Water stained; 86-90 degrees; 1.35’ low. Black bass to 5 pounds are good on yellow spinnerbaits early. Crappie are good on minnows around structure early. Bream are good on live worms under piers. Channel catfish are good on shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.

LIVINGSTON: Water stained; 84-88 degrees; 0.98’ low. Black bass are good on green pumpkin soft plastics and spinnerbaits. Striped bass are good but small on Rat-L-Traps and Zara spooks. White bass are fair on troll tubes and pet spoons. Crappie are good on minnows. Blue catfish are good on shad. Yellow catfish are slow.

SAM RAYBURN: Water lightly stained; 81-85 degrees; 4.51’ low. Black bass are good on black/blue flake soft plastic worms. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows over baited holes. Bream are fair on nightcrawlers. Catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait and cut bait.

TOLEDO BEND: Water lightly stained; 82-86 degrees; 3.60’ low. Black bass are good on Rat-L-Traps and black/blue Gene Larew craw worms early and late. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on Li’l Fishies. Crappie are fair on minnows over baited holes. Bream are good on crickets and nightcrawlers off docks. Channel and blue catfish are good on trotlines baited with live bait, liver, and hearts. Yellow catfish are slow.

COASTAL

NORTH SABINE: Trout are fair in the river on live shad. Redfish are good in the cuts and drains leading to the marsh on shrimp and jigs tipped with shrimp.

SOUTH SABINE: Trout are fair to good while drifting the reefs on live shrimp and soft plastics. Trout, sheepshead and redfish are fair to good at the jetty on live shrimp and shad.

BOLIVAR: Trout are fair on the south shoreline on small topwaters and soft plastics. Black drum, sand trout and redfish are good at Rollover Pass.

TRINITY BAY: Trout are good for drifters working wells and shell pads on shrimp and mullet. Redfish are good on live bait around the reefs and at the spillway. Trout and redfish are good in the marsh on live bait.

EAST GALVESTON BAY: Trout are good for drifters working deep shell on plastics and live bait. Whiting and sand trout are good on the edge of the Intracoastal on fresh shrimp.

WEST GALVESTON BAY: Sheepshead, redfish and black drum are good at the jetty on shrimp and crabs. Trout are fair in Christmas Bay on live shrimp over reefs. Offshore is good for tarpon, kingfish, amberjack and ling.

TEXAS CITY: Trout are fair on the reefs on live shrimp and croakers. Trout are fair along the edge of the Ship Channel on croakers and shrimp. Redfish are fair in Moses Lake on shrimp and mullet.

FREEPORT: Sand trout and sheepshead are good on live shrimp on the reefs in Bastrop and Christmas bay. Trout, Spanish mackerel and sand trout are good at the jetties on soft plastics and shrimp.

EAST MATAGORDA BAY: Trout are fair for drifters on live shrimp over humps and scattered shell. Redfish are fair to good on the edge of the Intracoastal on crabs and mullet.

WEST MATAGORDA BAY: Trout and sand trout are fair on sand and grass humps on soft plastics, croakers and topwaters. Redfish are fair on live shrimp in Oyster Lake and Crab Lake. Flounder gigging has been fair to good.

PORT O’CONNOR: Trout and redfish are fair on live bait over sand, grass and shell in San Antonio Bay. Redfish and tarpon are fair to good on shad and crabs at the jetty.

ROCKPORT: Trout are fair in the guts and channels on free-lined shrimp. Redfish are good on mullet and shrimp the islands and on the edge of the Intracoastal.

PORT ARANSAS: Trout, redfish and sheepshead are fair to good at the jetty on shrimp and croakers. Trout are fair around Pelican Island on topwaters, piggies and croakers.

CORPUS CHRISTI: Trout are fair to good on the edge of the spoils on Gulps and live shrimp. Redfish are good in the potholes on shrimp and Gulps. Trout are good in the surf on croakers and topwaters.

BAFFIN BAY: Trout are fair on topwaters around rocks and grass near the Land Cut. Trout are fair to good on the King Ranch shoreline on croakers, topwaters and plum and glow plastics.

PORT MANSFIELD: Trout and redfish are fair on topwaters around sand and grass near spoil islands. Redfish are fair to good while drifting pot holes on DOA Shrimp and Gulps under a popping cork.

SOUTH PADRE: Trout are fair in South Bay and Mexiquita Flats on shrimp and plastics under rattling corks. Tarpon and a few kingfish have been showing at the jetty and pass.

PORT ISABEL: Trout and redfish are fair to good on the flats on live shrimp and DOA Shrimp under a popping cork. Snook are good early in the morning around the Brownsville Ship Channel on topwaters and soft plastics
