BULLARD — Brook Hill lefty Taylor Schultz threw a complete game three-hitter to lead the Lady Guard to an 11-3 win over Fort Worth Temple Christian on Friday in TAPPS Class 3A softball area game at Schwab Field.

The Lady Guard built a 3-0 lead behind three hits in the first four innings before a big five-run fifth inning for an 8-1 cushion.

Ari Assad led the Lady Guard offensive attack, going 3 for 4 with two triples and four RBIs.

Desarae Rowan was the catalyst in the lead-off spot, going 1-for-3 with two runs scored.

Schultz added a hit and an RBI, while scoring once to aid her mound cause. From the circle, the freshman struck out 10, walked only three, hit three batters, but gave up only three hits and no earned runs.

Losing pitcher Michelle Tadlock's triple was one of the Lady Eagles' three hits.
