Longview’s Parr receives TSO Pro-Am Scholarship

Hudson Parr, a 2024 Trinity School of Texas graduate from Longview, is this year’s recipient of Sunday’s 54th M&P Group Texas State Open Pro-Am scholarship.

Proceeds from the Pro-Am, which was held at The Cascades Golf & Country Club in Tyler, go to the M&P Group Texas State Open scholarship fund. A scholarship that will continually be awarded to a Tyler-area NTPGA Junior Tour member.



Parr receives a $5,000 scholarship.

The Pro-Am champions were professional Paul Gonzalez and amateurs Phillip Choi, Chandler Weigand and Kaid Oliver. The group shot a 23-under-par round of 48 to win by three strokes.

Placing second was pro Anthony Broussard, along with amateurs Rick Morris, David Scroggins and David Hardiman. The foursome carded a 20-under 51.

The third-place squad included pro Kyle Pritchard and amateurs Lexton Wilson, Donny Wilson and Tanner Wilson. They shot a 19-under 52.

Finishing fourth in a scorecard playoff over two other squads was the team of pro Hazen Newman and amateurs Gant Braley, Steve Braley and Buddy Miller at 18-under 53.

Tying for fifth, also at 18-under 53, were — Caleb Hicks, Jay Misenheimer, Tyler Miller and Don Polk; and Matthew Watkins, Michael Gossett, Colten Claxton and Tyson Shackleford.
