Lindale captures Lobo golf tournament

LONGVIEW — Lindale, led by D.J. Godoy’s 71, captured first place in the 39th Annual Lobo Invitational Golf Tournament on Monday at Pinecrest Country Club.
The Eagles carded a 316 to finish a stroke ahead of Robert E. Lee and Bullard Brook Hill.
Hallsville’s Devin Jackson carded a 66 to win medalist honors. Pine Tree’s Bryce Alley finished second with a 69, winning a second-hole playoff against Carthage’s Wade Davis. Ben Taylor of Mount Pleasant was fourth with a 70.
Joining Godoy on the Eagles team were Cameron Coulter (80), Garrett White (82), Logan Frazier (83) and Mason Terry (92).
The Red Raiders took second in a scorecard playoff with Brook Hill. The tiebreaker was the fifth player, but the Guard had only four.
Will Curtis led Lee with a 76, followed by Will Pollard (79), Zach Sampson (80), Ben Shoup (82) and Ben Harrison (84).
Hunter Shattuck paced Brook Hill with a 72. Other Guard players were Matt Webb (74), Jeffrey Yeager (84) and Travis King (87).
Henderson’s William Wilder fired a 74, while Reed Bedard of Whitehouse carded a 77.
There were 16 teams entered in the tourney.
