Late score lifts Brook Hill

GRAND PRAIRIE – Bullard Brook Hill’s Jermiah McGowen scored on a 5-yard run with 31 seconds remaining to give the Guard a 31-28 win over Dallas Triple A Academy on Friday at the Gopher-Warrior Bowl.
The Guard (3-0) needed a big third-down catch from Parker Galbraith to set up McGowen’s score. It was one of three touchdowns McGowen had in the game.
McGowen rushed for 129 yards on 23 carries, while Brooks Parham had 93 yards on 15 attempts. McGowen’s other TD runs were for 5 and 1 yards. He also ran in a two-point conversion.
Brook Hill QB Hood Taylor connected on 7 of 16 passing attempts for 130 yards. He rushed for 59 yards and a TD on nine carries. He scored on a 9-yard run.
Jordon McGowen had an interception for the Guard, while Alec Kitt recovered a fumble.
Galbraith had three catches for 49 yards.
Defensively, Carson Ezell had 12 tackles, two tackles for loss and a forced fumble. Chidiebere Nechi added 12 tackles and Campbell Fletcher had nine tackles.
Brook Hill (3-0) plays host to Katy Pope St. John XXIII at 7:30 p.m. Friday on Young Field at Herrington Stadium.
Triple-A falls to 0-3.
