HS Baseball Roundup: Grace’s Robert no-hits Gorman

Evan Robert struck out 11 and allowed one walk as Grace Community no-hit Bishop Gorman 12-0 on Tuesday.
The Cougars scored all of their runs in the first inning, sending 17 batters to the plate. Mason Aldredge started the inning with a triple and Jonny Spitzer followed with a double. Call Florence had a two-run single.
Spitzer finished 3 for 3 with two runs and two RBIs. Aldredge and Chris McLeod also had multi-hit games for Grace while Andrew Melhart added two RBIs.
Robert’s lone blemish came when Tait Reininger drew a lead-off walk to start the third. Gorman’s Logan Botello also reached on an error in the fourth.
While striking out all but five batters he faced, Robert threw 51 of his 76 pitches for strikes in the five-inning contest.
Relief pitcher John Paul Ruesewald held the Cougars to one hit over the final three innings.

Trojans blank Panthers
Aston Francis pitched a complete-game shutout as All Saints defeated Dallas Parish Episcopal 7-0.
Trey Rowe hit a solo homer in a four-run fifth to power the Trojans (21-5, 12-2 TAPPS 2-4A) offense.

BALCH SPRINGS — Brandon Baker threw a one-hitter while striking out 11 as East Texas Christian Academy scored a 15-0 win over Heath Fulton School in a TAPPS 3-1A/2A baseball game.
Grayson Pirtle led the Panthers (10-4, 6-1) bats with a 3-for-3 outing with three RBIs. Troy Anderson was 2 for 2.
Adding doubles for ETCA were Jacob Roach, Hayden Sims and Noah Walker.

Sitton, Lindale shut out Corsicana, 4-0
CORSICANA — Behind the pitching of Sam Sitton, Lindale picked up a big 4-0 win over Corsicana.
Sitton held the Tigers to no runs on three hits in a crucial District 16-4A tilt.
The Eagles did all their damage in a four-run fifth to improve to 6-2 in league play.

McClellan, Nacogdoches blank Whitehouse, 2-0
WHITEHOUSE — Hunter McClellan tossed a one-hitter, leading Nacogdoches to a key 2-0 win over Whitehouse in a District 16-4A contest.
The Dragons improved to 17-4 overall and 7-1 in league play while Whitehouse fell to 19-5 and 4-4.
Whitehouse starting pitcher Ryan Cheatham allowed six hits.
Nacogdoches hosts John Tyler on Friday while Whitehouse meets Corsicana at the Wildcats’ diamond on Senior Night.
Guard cruise past McKinney Christian, 14-0
BULLARD — Seth Brasher and Blake Maddox supplied three hits apiece and Logan Langford and Ryan Cox combined on a three-hitter as Bullard Brook Hill blanked McKinney Christian 14-0.
Cox went 2 for 4 with four RBIs and Brasher had three RBIs for the Guard. Daniel Priddy added two hits and two RBIs, with Maddox also driving in two. Chase Moore scored four runs.
Langford allowed three hits while striking out three in four innings while Cox struck out one in the fifth.
