Tyler Lee’s Scott Skrocki shoots a 66; Tyler Lee wins Lindale High School/Hide-A-Way Lake Invitational

HIDEAWAY — Tyler Lee senior Scott Skrocki fired a 66 as the Red Raiders won the Lindale High School/Hide-A-Way Lake Invitational golf tournament Monday at Hide-A-Way Lake Club.
According to tournament director Ben Shipley, it was the lowest score in the event in the 30 years he’s been there.
Lee finished with a 303 to win the event. Red Raiders head coach David McElveen said it’s the team’s lowest round in more than six years. McElveen added that Skrocki shot his lowest round in three years.
Hallsville “A” also shot a 303 but lost a scorecard playoff and finished second. Marshall placed third with a 312. Other teams were Hallsville “B” (357), Lufkin (366), Pine Tree (371), Longview (379), Whitehouse (380), Jacksonville (310), Sabine (425) and Chapel Hill (455).
Hallsville’s Lake Juban shot a 72 to finished second, and Marshall’s Ben Tackett (74) finished third.
The rest of the top 10 were Hallsville’s Paxton McGarvey 74, Hallsville’s Chase Baxter 74, Longview’s Cade Bruce 75, Tyler Lee’s Griffin Jones 77, Marshall’s Josh Wood 77, Marshall’s Colby Chambers 78, Tyler Lee’s Reed Geese 80, Lindale’s Jake Fischer 80 and Tyler Lee’s Sam Johnson 80.
Lee’s Caden Smith carded an 81.
