Tyler Lee Golf: Lady Raiders win Candee Collins Invitational

- The Tyler Lee Lady Raiders golf team captured first place in the Candee Collins Golf Invitational, hosted by Longview Pine Tree High School, that concluded on Saturday. The Robert E. Lee Lady Raiders are atop the leaderboard once again. This time in Longview.
Tyler Lee, led by runner-up medalist Sydney McConnell, captured the Candee Collins Invitational Golf Tournament hosted by Pine Tree High School. It was the Lady Raiders’ eighth tournament win.
The Lady Raiders carded a two-round score of 656 (331-325) to win by seven strokes over Dallas Highland Park (344-319—663). Rockwall was third at 679 (350-329).
The first round was played at Pinecrest Country Club on Friday and the second round at Wood Hollow Golf Club on Saturday.
McConnell carded rounds of 79 and 76 for a 36-hole total of 155 to earn silver medalist honors.
Gracie Henard, of Texarkana Texas High, fired a final round of 69 to go with her first round of 84 to win medalist honors with a 153. Rockwall’s Madison Hatcher (28-75) and Lee’s Annaka Watts (80-77) tied for the bronze at 157.
The Lady Raiders will next play in the District 11-6A Tournament on April 3-4 at The Tempest Golf Club in Gladewater.
