CORSICANA — Angel Rodriguez belted a two-run homer and Trevor Doke had two triples as the Robert E. Lee Red Raiders opened their baseball season with an 8-2 win over the Corsicana Tigers on Monday.

The game was moved to Monday after weather concerns threaten play on Tuesday.

Rodriguez had the homer in the first inning and Doke had two RBIs and three runs scored to go along with his triples.

Kyler Keener, Will Landes and Andrew Nick all pitched for Lee, limiting the Tigers to five hits.

REL will host the 28th Annual Rose City Classic this weekend at Mike Carter Field.

The Red Raiders have two games on Thursday (10 a.m. vs. Sulphur Springs, 6 p.m. vs. Waxahachie), one game on Friday (6 p.m. vs. Amarillo) and two games on Saturday (4 p.m. vs. Forney, 6 p.m. vs. Lindale).
