Bullard Brook Hill senior outside hitter Samantha Anderson earned second-team all-state honors on the TAPPS Class 4A All-State volleyball team.

Anderson led the Lady Guard to a 15-13 record as the team's leader in kills and blocks.

In November, Anderson signed with the University of Central Arkansas.

Anderson wasn't the only East Texan honored at the state level.

Grace Community senior outside hitter Taylor Kingsley and All Saints junior middle blocker Ferrell Clyde were named all-state honorable mention.

Both Kingsley and Clyde were also academic all-state selections, along with other teammates.

Senior Bethany Kimmey joined Kingsley on the academic all-state team from the Lady Cougars while sisters Foster, a senior, and Frances, a junior, Hackney joined Clyde from the Lady Trojans.

Additionally, Bishop Gorman senior Kianna Udenze and junior Kristian Loving were academic all state, as were Anderson and junior Brook Hill teammate Charlie Niles.
