Spring Hill upsets Pirates, 26-12

LONGVIEW — Landry Lee threw a pair of touchdown passes and the Spring Hill defense held an explosive Pittsburg offense to only 124 total yards as the Panthers picked up their first District 16-3A win of the season, topping the Pirates 26-12 Friday night at Panther Stadium.
Coming into Friday’s district showdown averaging 351.4 yards and 28 points per game with playoff hopes, the Pirates (5-4, 2-2) met a Panther defense that forced four fumbles and an interception.
Lee connected with Tyler Nichols for touchdown strikes of 28 and 25 yards to lead the Panthers.
