Malakoff still spotless in district

MALAKOFF — The Malakoff Tigers maintained a share of the District 11-2A, Division 1 lead Friday night with a 27-13 win against the Teague Lions.

Malakoff, 7-1 overall with the win, improved to 3-0 in district, keeping pace with Crockett. The Tigers and Crockett play in two weeks in Malakoff. Teague fell to 4-4 and 1-2.



Cesar Garcia gave the Tigers the lead for good with 2:58 left in the opening quarter with a 33-yard field goal, giving the Tigers a 10-7 advantage. He booted a 23-yard field goal early in the third quarter for a 13-7 lead.
