Girls Basketball Roundup: Lady Crusaders notch win No. 10

Bishop Gorman 55, Mount Enterprise 18
MOUNT ENTERPRISE — With three players scoring in double figures, the Bishop Gorman Lady Crusaders picked up a a 55-18 win over Mount Enterprise on Monday afternoon in a girls basketball game.
Taylor Wood had 16 points to lead all scorers, with Bella Aragaw and Claire Testa adding 12 each for the Lady Crusaders.
Bishop Gorman will take a 10-1 record into the Thanksgiving break. The Lady Crusaders will face Cypress Christian on Dec. 5 in the Bruce G. Brookshire Basketball Classic at All Saints Episcopal School.
Bishop Gorman did not have Maria Kariampuzha available (due to illness), and Jazz Blankinship missed the game as well (ankle). Crusaders head coach Jon Froelich expects both will return after Thanksgiving.
“We have had a busy schedule the last 10 days,” Froelich said. “The team has made progress, and it is a nice accomplishment to have 10 wins early in the season.”
JT splits pair of games
EMORY — The John Tyler Lady Lions captured their first win of the season with a 38-28 victory over Tatum on Monday in the Sixth Annual Thanksgiving Tip-Off, sponsored by the Emory Lions Club, at Rains High School.
In the first game, Paris defeated JT 51-23.
Against Tatum, Kamora Jackson and Kierstyn Ross each hit for eight points to lead the Lady Lions. Makia Moon added seven points, followed by Ellyse Daye (6), Errian Johnson (4), Symone Gray (3) and Jay Mariea Taylor (2).
In the Paris game, Ross paced JT with nine points. Others scoring were Jackson (4), Johnson (4), Moon (2), Taylor (2) and Terrion Williams (2).
JT is scheduled to play Elysian Fields at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The Lady Lions will then play at either 2 or 3:30 p.m.
Alba-Golden 47,
All Saints 35
ALBA — Hannah Wright scored 14 points and Kalli Wright added 13 points as the Alba-Golden Lady Panthers scored a 47-35 win over the All Saints Lady Trojans on Monday.
Bella Crawford added 11 points for the 4-6 Lady Panthers.
Madeline Perkins led All Saints (0-4) with 15 points. Maggie Maxey added 12 points and she was followed by Olivia Patterson (5), Kate Parker (2) and Eyan Absar (1).
Others scoring for A-G, which is scheduled to host Scurry-Rosser on Dec. 3, were Crimson Bryant (4), Cacie Lennon (3) and Autumn Whitten (2).
The Lady Trojans are scheduled to play at Troup on Dec. 3.
Hawkins 51,
White Oak 43
WHITE OAK — The Hawkins Lady Hawks moved to 10-0 on the season with a 51-43 win over White Oak on Monday.
The Hawkins guards — Lynli Dacus and Alyssa Eddington — combined for 29 points, 15 and 14 points, respectively. Dacus pulled down nine rebounds, dished two assists and had two steals. Eddington had five rebounds, two assists and seven steals.
Makena Warren (6 rebounds, 2 assists) and Jordyn Warren (5 rebounds, 2 steals) both scored six points each for the Lady Hawks. M. Warren had six rebounds and 2 assists. Also scoring for Hawkins were Logan Jaco (5), Maraina Clark (3) and Tenley Conde (2).
Chapel Hill 51,
Athens 44
NEW CHAPEL HILL — The Chapel Hill Lady Bulldogs improved to 7-2 on the season with a 51-44 win over Athens on Monday.
The Lady Bulldogs used a balanced scoring attack, led by Brittley Maddox with 12 points. Also scoring for CH were Kylei Griffin (8), Natalya Overshown (7), Ty’Liyah Moore (6), Shelbee Denson (6), Jenea Travier (5), Tierney Minor (5) and Alexia Rogers (2).
Cee Hudson led the Lady Hornets with 18 points, while Mimi McCollister had 16.
Chapel Hill will play at Van on Tuesday, Dec. 3. Athens will play Arp in the Jasper Ventures Classic at noon Saturday at C.L. Nix Wildcat Arena in Whitehouse.
Canton 57, Terrell 24
TERRELL — Olivia Norrell scored 19 points and Kayden Prox added 11 as the Canton Eaglettes defeated Terrell 57-24 on Monday.
Canton (3-1) plays host to Edgewood on Tuesday. The JV is scheduled to start at noon, followed by the varsity at 1:15 p.m.
Others scoring for the Eaglettes were Kari Nicklas (7), Brianisha Rolling (4), Ashley Riffe (4), Darby Pruitt (4), Averie Cantrell (4) and Amari Welch (4).
