FCA All-Star football game Saturday at Lobo Stadium in Longview

East Texans love their football and Saturday they will get a stopgap until the fall season begins.



Some of the players will go on to play college football, but for most it will be their last chance to don a football uniform.

The eighth annual Chick-fil-A Heart of a Champion Bowl is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Lobo Stadium in Longview. The Northeast Chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has all-star football players and cheerleaders participating.

Tickets are $7.

Most Popular

KTBB 97.5-FM and 600-AM will carry the game with Bill Coates and Kevin Simon.

It is the conclusion to FCA Heart of a Champion All-Star week. The baseball and softball games were held Friday at UT Tyler.

John Tyler football coach Ricklan Holmes is head coach of the Blue Team, while Overton’s Richard Strickland is the head coach of the Red Team.
