OVERTON — The Carlisle Indians bounced back after suffering a loss last week and pitched a shutout, routing the Overton Mustangs 45-0.

The Indians forced four turnovers and kept Overton’s offense on their heels whenever the Mustangs were trying to engineer a drive. Meanwhile, the Indians scored every time they had the ball.

Subsequently they were ahead 31-0 at the half. Bryce McGowan scored three touchdowns in the half and finished his night with 57 yards on 6 carries and hauled in a 6 yard TD reception from quarterback Caleb Colley.

Gustavo Martinez led the Indians with 91 yards on 13 rushes and a touchdown. In the third quarter, Carlisle picked up where it left off on its opening possession. The Indians orchestrated a 7 play 40-yard drive that was capped off by Martinez scoring from 5 yards out to make the score 38-0 and their final score came in the fourth quarter with Colley scooting around the corner from 14 yards out. Kicker Angel Garza added the PAT kick to make it 45-0.
