Brook Hill wins ETCA volleyball tourney

Bullard Brook Hill won the Elaine Shaver-Phillip Wyatt Memorial Tournament hosted by East Texas Christian Academy on Saturday.
The Lady Guard defeated Carlisle 25-20, 25-20, 25-12 in the championship game.
The host Lady Panthers took third by defeating Trinity 2-1 in a best-of-three match. Shannon Stewart led ETCA (2-2) with 14 kills while Courtney Craig supplied a great defensive game, coach Diann Preston said.
Kemp won the consolation final 2-0 over Longview Christian.
The tournament, named to honor two parents of ETCA volleyball players that passed away, had an all-tournament sportsmanship team, which included Brook Hill’s Abigail Baker, Carlisle’s Kennedy Bissot, ETCA’s Craig, Trinity’s Lowery Houston, Lacie Henderson of Kemp, Shelby Anders of Longview Christian, Heather Swingler of East Texas Christian School-Longview and Vanessa Martinez of Alba-Golden’s JV squad.
