MARSHALL — Keith Biggs ran 14 times for 173 yards and three touchdowns (all in the first half), while the Marshall defense gave up only 63 yards in the second half of a 49-8 win against Huntington (La.) at Maverick Stadium to improve to 10-1 all time against the Raiders.

Alandric Tutt completed 12 of 20 passes for 149 yards, as Marshall (1-1) racked up 521 yards of total offense, and three different Mavericks players intercepted passes to help give the team quite an emotional lift entering its Week 2 game next Saturday at Shreveport Byrd in Independence Stadium.

Tutt scored his second touchdown of the night from 9 yards out to cap a nine-play, 58-yard drive aided by the 25-yard kickoff return by Trey Green and the strong running of Mario Adkins (nine carries, 72 yards), who had an impressive night on both sides of the ball and was one of several Maverick players who didn’t start due to a violation of team rules.
