Baseball: All Saints 8, Dallas Christian 4

MESQUITE – The All Saints Episcopal Trojans jumped on Dallas Christian early, scoring four runs in the first inning and held off a late charge en route to an 8-4 win on Saturday in their TAPPS 2-4A baseball clash on the Chargers’ diamond.
All Saints scored in the first on an RBI single by Jack Hamm, an RBI single by Casey Pelton, a bases loaded walk and a passed ball.
Dalton Hayes boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 4 for 4 day at the plate to pace the Trojans. He singled in the second, third, fifth and seventh innings.
Pelton was also in control on the mound. He held the Chargers hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four.
Dallas Christian closed the lead to 5-1 in the second and made it 5-3 in the bottom of the third.
The home side made it 5-4 before All Saints’ bats went back to work, scoring three more runs in the seventh with an error scoring Sully McCreery and Drew Yochum.
