Arp wins third straight, 62-14 over Shelbyville

ARP – The Arp Tigers won their third-straight game by scoring a 62-14 victory over Shelbyville Friday night at Herrington Field.

Demonte Ward rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns to lead the 3-1 Tigers.



Scoring TDs for Arp were Kayce Medlock (2, 25 runs), Tyler Stewart (35 run), Wade (46, 7 runs), Trey Baker (97-yard interception return), Chris Hunt (11 run), Skyler Hotaling (63 run) and Jordan Branltey (39 fumble return).

Stewart and Hotaling added two-point conversion runs for the Tigers, while Ford Merritt booted two extra points.

Scoring for the Dragons were Terrell Cartwright on 15-yard run and 65-yard kickoff return that concluded the first half.

Arp plays host to two-time defending state champion Waskom next Friday in the District 9-3A Division II opener for both teams.

The Dragons play the same night at Corrigan-Camden in a non-district game.
