Hickman, the former TCU standout, played the final two rounds at 4-under for a 54-hole total of 1-under 212.

It was his fourth WBCC title. He was also back-to-back champion in 2006 and 2007.

Hickman, a noted amateur around the state, was pleased with his final round.

“I just played really well today,” he said. “I hit it really good. I played the par 3s really well. I made three twos today and that always helps.”

Then there’s the Texas State Mid-Amateur, Sept. 27-29 at The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch in Boerne. Later in the fall, there’s the United States Mid-Amateur, scheduled for Oct. 5-8 at the Country Club of Birmingham in Birmingham, Ala.
