Grace rolls to win

CEDAR HILL – Grace Community had big first and third quarters that propelled the Cougars victory on Friday night against Cedar Hill Trinity Christian, 49-21, at Tiger Stadium.

Trinity Christian scored first to take 6-0 lead when quarterback Calab Powers connected on a 52-yard strike to wide receiver Trent Chambers.



Tyler Grace controlled the game on the ground by with touchdown runs from running back Uchenna Uduma and quarterback Braydon Stone who each scored twice. Stone also connected to Uduma on a 20-yard TD pass in the first quarter that put the Cougars up 21-6 at the end of the first.

Power connected to his favorite target of the night Chambers for 42-yard touchdown pass that made the score 21-13.

Uduma ran for a 5-yard score to make the score 28-21 at halftime.

Grace came out in the third quarter moving the ball up the field on three consecutive drives to make the score 49-21.

Stone scored on runs of 10 and 20 yards and quarterback Christopher Wilhelmi tossed TD passes of 4 to Garrett Tauscher and 10 to Zach West.

The Cougars (3-3, 1-1) have a bye next Friday before returning to play on Oct. 14 to face rival All Saints at Clyde-Perkins Stadium on the Grace campus.

Trinity Christian travels to Tyler to face All Saints next Friday at Mewbourne Field.
