UT Dallas edges UT Tyler in five games

The University of Texas at Dallas spoiled the final home game of the season for UT Tyler volleyball, rallying to win 3-2.

The Patriots, after winning the first two sets, dropped the next three to fall 19-25, 24-26, 25-22, 25-20 and 15-12. It was the 10th loss of the year for UT Tyler.



Danika Waldrep, in her final game at the Herrington Patriot Center, had 20 kills and 14 digs in the contest. Freshman Madison Kosir recorded a match-high 23 kills for UT Tyler.

Emily Wood, who was named American Southwest Conference East Division Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, led the Patriots with 37 digs in the contest. Kosir followed with 29 digs and 23 assists. Ashten Waldrep led the team with 24 assists.

The Comets were led by Taylour Toso with 17 kills. Chelsea McHenry held a team high 28 assists, with Amy Gunter recording 23 digs for UT Dallas.

The loss for UT Tyler gives them a 19-10 record on the season, and 11-6 record in ASC play. The Patriots have already clinched a place in the ASC ChampionshipÂ
