TJC’s Mulvany wins NJCAA medalist honor

PLYMOUTH, Ind. — Tyler Junior College’s Ryan Mulvany captured medalist honors and the Arnold Palmer Award on Friday at the NJCAA Division II National Golf Tournament at Swan Lake Resort.
The Apaches finished second as a team behind South Mountain (Ariz.).
Mulvany, a sophomore from Bundaberg, Australia, had a four-round total of 5-under 283, including a final round of 4-under 68. His previous rounds were 69-72-74-68. He won by three strokes over Jimmy Kozikowski of South Mountain.
TJC combined for a 296 on Friday for a four-round total of 1,194. South Mountain won with a 1,163. The Apaches tied with John A. Logan (Ill.), but took second in a playoff.
Other TJC golfers and their finish were: T15, Terry Tyler (75-76-71-78—300); T32, Conlan Laporte (73-78-76—305); T53, Jonathan Singleton (78-79-78—308) and T84, Cameron Lindell (77-83-78—315).
There were 218 golfers and 19 teams entered.
