MESQUITE — Robert E. Lee suffered from foul trouble and ultimately conceded, 57-44, in its game at Mesquite on Friday.

Lee junior Taylor Tankersley, the Red Raiders leading scorer, fouled out in the third period after being hit with three fouls in the first period.

Tankersley finished with eight points while Jarrod Coleman, Evan Tomlinson and Will Dougherty each scored 10 points in the loss.

“This is our second game in a row where our opponents shot 27 free throws and we shot seven,” said Lee coach Alan Johnston. “I guess we’ve got to do a better job of drawing enough contact to go to the free-throw line.”

Johnston said Lee was averaging 20 free-throw attempts per game before district started.
