Canton edges Brownsboro

CANTON – The Canton Eagles rallied for runs in the seventh and eighth innings to score a 3-2 win over the Brownsboro Bears on Monday in a District 14-4A baseball game.

Johnnie Krawietz singled home the winning run in the eighth with no outs.



Simon Miller and Steven Sterling combined for the three-hitter. Miller worked the first 3 2/3 innings, striking out four. Sterling got the win, hurling 4 1/3 innings while striking out two.

Jake Connor pitched seven strong innings for the Bears, allowing only one earned run while striking out five and allowing just five hits.

The Bears took a 2-0 in lead in the first on an RBI double by Austin Fout and an RBI single by Wyatt Rinehart. Christian Reeves got the other hit for Brownsboro. Toby Davis scored on Fout’s two-bagger, while Braden Womack came home on Rinehart’s base hit.

In the bottom of the inning, Zach Brown’s sacrifice fly plated Krawietz.

Hunter Moore and Blayne Clower had two hits each for the Eagles, while Krawietz, Kyle Farrell and Miller each added hits.
