Kenda King
BULLARD — A memorial service for Kenda Ruth King, 60, is scheduled for Friday, January 31, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.
Kenda was born on October 24, 1964, in Jacksonville, TX, and passed away on January 25, 2025 in Bullard, TX.
Kenda was a cowgirl at heart. She lived the cowboy way from an early age, riding her stick horse as soon as she could walk. She attended Bullard schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. After graduating high school, she attended Tyler Junior College and University of Texas at Tyler, becoming a licensed vocational nurse. She was a deeply compassionate caregiver, but her heart ultimately led her down a different path. She found her true calling as a cattle truck driver, thriving on the open highways, working with cattle, and exchanging stories on the CB radio with fellow truckers. These years were among the happiest of her life. She often reminisced about her truck-driving days, always imagining she would make one last run.
Kenda was a devoted daughter, a loyal sister, and an adoring aunt. She had a bold spirit and a gentle soul.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lou Ella and Ray Baker, and Mary and Willis King, as well as her best furry friend, Abby.
Kenda’s memory lives on with her parents, Linda and Kenneth King of Bullard; her sister, Kelly King, and husband David Faust of Austin; and her nephews, Curtis Dean of Austin, and Alex Dean and wife Nikki and their daughter, Audrey Claire, of Alexandria, Virginia.
Kenda’s vibrant spirit and big heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
