TYLER — Johnny “Woody” Carter, 74, of Tyler, TX, passed away on February 27, 2024. Woody was a 4th generation masonry contractor for over 60 years and later became a consultant for various commercial and residential projects. He was a long-time Mason and Shriner and an active member of his community. Woody was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was married to Mary Sue Carter for 56 years this August.
Woody was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time. He will be remembered for his love of family, dedication to his work, and passion for his hobbies.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 1, with visitation at 10:30 am followed by the funeral at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Woody.
