CHANDLER — Gennell Cofer, 76, of Chandler, TX. exited this life to eternal life, Sunday April 5, 2020. Gennell was born on August 12, 1943 and raised in Chandler (Antioch) Texas. Gennell was born to Fred and Bettie Lemons. She graduated from Central High in Moore Station, TX. and went on to graduate from Sweat Beauty School in Tyler, TX. Gennell was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ and a longtime member of Antioch Baptist Church in Chandler. She was a very fine and dedicated pianist and beautician. She retired from Brownsboro ISD.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Minister Ira L. Cofer; sons, Minister Delbert Cofer, Pastor Stanley Cofer (Christie) of Tyler, TX, Gerald Cofer (Minister Paula) of Flint, TX, Minister Stacey Cofer (Tawana) of Dallas, TX; daughters: Ivy Williams (Minister Martinez), Minister Melinda Bryant (James) of Tyler, TX, Cassandra Austin (Terrick) of Chandler, TX; two brothers, Rev. Hoover Lemons (Ella) of Murphy, TX, and John Lemons (Dorothy) of Dallas, TX; one sister Beverly George (Rev.Charles) of New Orleans, LA; 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
