The Tyler Junior College Apache Belles are set to perform in the H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The Apache Belles are entering their 24th year participating in the Houston parade, which celebrates 74 years this Thanksgiving.
You can tune into CBS19 to watch the parade set for 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday (Thanksgiving Day).
Located in the heart of downtown Houston, this event is one of the oldest Thanksgiving Day parades in the country, according to the City of Houston. Houston’s Thanksgiving Day Parade began in 1949 when Santa arrived at Union Station and rode his sleigh to the downtown Foley’s department store, according to the city.
Each year, several hundred thousand Houstonians line the streets to cheer on participants. The parade will traverse over 20 city blocks and will feature elaborate floats, marching bands, balloons and other “uniquely Houston” entries, according to the city.
