18-wheeler leaks 50 gallons of fuel on I-20; westbound lane temporarily closed

Winona Fire and Hazmat crew are responding to an 18-wheeler that has leaked 50 gallons of fuel on the inside lane of Interstate 20 near mile marker 577.
According to Sgt. Darrell Coslin with Smith County Sheriff’s Office, the 18-wheeler hit debris in the road causing damage to the lower fuel cell. The westbound lane of I-20 has been completely shut down, and traffic is staying steady and light. The westbound lane is expected to re-open within the next hour after clean up is complete.
