The Smith County Sheriff’s Office said there was no drowning on Lake Palestine on Tuesday. Emergency crews responded after a miscommunication between boaters led them to believe someone was missing and had possibly gone under.
First responders headed to Lake Palestine to search for the possible drowning victim at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday near Emerald Bay in Bullard.
Scanner traffic indicated crews from Flint Gresham, Bullard, Texas Parks and Wildlife and a helicopter were dispatched to the 15000 block of Lakeside Drive.
