U.S. News & World Report has named Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler as one of the best for a number of procedures, and ranked it the 12th best hospital in the state.
It was recognized as one of the best hospitals for the common adult procedures and conditions of heart bypass surgery, heart failure, colon cancer surgery, cardio obstructive pulmonary disease, aortic valve surgery and knee replacement for 2017-18.
And it was designated as “Recognized” in the Piney Woods Region.
U.S. News & World Report has issued its Best Hospitals rankings annually for 28 years.
“We are very excited to play a part in this recognition,” said Jason Proctor, Chief Operating Officer, Christus Mother Frances Hospitals-Tyler, South Tyler, and the Christus Trinity Mother Frances Louis and Peaches Owen Heart Hospital. “This was made possible because of the hard work, dedication and expertise of all of the associates and medical staff working in HealthParks, hospitals and Christus Trinity Clinic locations across Tyler and the other Northeast Texas communities we serve.”
For the 2017-18 rankings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 medical centers nationwide in 25 specialties, procedures and conditions, according to a press release. In the 16 specialty areas, 146 hospitals were ranked in at least one specialty. In rankings by state and metro area, U.S. News recognized hospitals as high performing across multiple areas of care.
“For nearly three decades, we’ve strived to make hospital quality more transparent to health care consumers nationwide,” said Ben Harder, managing editor and chief of health analysis at U.S. News. “By providing the most comprehensive data available, we hope to give patients the information they need to find the best care across a range of specialties.”
