Tyler woman arrested on illegal gambling charges

An ongoing investigation into illegal gaming operations in Smith County yielded another arrest. 

Investigators identified a 39-year-old Tyler woman as the manager of an illegal gaming facility in the 11000 block of U.S. Highway 64 East in Smith County, according to the sheriff’s office. 



The sheriff’s office obtained an arrest warrant for the manager of the facility. She was arrested Thursday on charges of gambling promotion and possession of gambling devices, equipment or paraphernalia, according to Smith County judicial records. She was booked into the Smith County Jail where she was being held on bonds totaling $100,000, according to jail records. 

It is the policy of the Tyler Morning Telegraph not to release the names of people charged with misdemeanor offenses.
