Tyler/Smith County Texas A&M Club awards 21 scholarships

The Tyler/Smith County Texas A&M Club recently awarded 21 scholarships to East Texas high school students.
The club recognized the scholarship recipients and their parents at a luncheon on June 6, according to a news release.
Scholarships were awarded based on scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities, community service, financial need and interviews.
The Tyler/Smith County Texas A&M Club is a nonprofit organization providing scholarships for Texas A&M University students and fellowship for former students.
The club raises the scholarship funds through its annual golf tournament, coach’s night and other events.

This year’s scholarship recipients are: Blake Birtcher and Trevor Long, All Saints Episcopal School; Lauren Littlefield, Arp High School; Timber Garner, The Brook Hill School; Clint Weaver, Chapel Hill High School; Anna Davidson and Max McKinley, Bishop T.K. Gorman Regional Catholic School; Kirby Edwards, recipient of the Jeremy Kersh Memorial Scholarship, Grace Community School; Angelina Estrada and Quaneshia Johnson, John Tyler High School; Andrew Bell, Geoffrey Austin Doke, Jace Eakin, Britton Ezzell, Jaina Giddens, Morgan Hadsall, Nathan Leary, Megan McDaniel and Mary Kate Murphy, Robert E. Lee High School; Bailey Hukill and John Caleb Jewell, Lindale High School.
