The Tyler Police Department will go door to door in a community policing effort to enhance relations between residents and police. 

The department will visit residents from 1-6 p.m. Friday addressing concerns such as criminal activity in the area, traffic issues, abandoned vehicles and code enforcement property concerns.

Police also will help residents address concerns to other city departments.  

The outreach program is one of many community police programs that the department conducts to become closer to the community and address problems residents may have in their neighborhoods.

“It is our hope to continue to develop relationships and help others,” Tyler Police Chief Jimmy Toler said. “Reaching out to a small area will allow us to identify and address immediate concerns.” 

The November Community Outreach Program will happen in the northeast section of the city and include Summit Avenue, Central Avenue, Olive Street, East Hillsboro Street, East Laurel Street and East Vance Street.
