Tyler police seek 2 men in baseball bat assault

The Tyler Police Department is looking for two men who accused of assaulting a man with a bat and taking his wallet on Thursday.

Shortly before 4 p.m., a 61-year-old man was outside his business at 902 N. Beckham Ave., according to a news release from the Tyler Police Department.

The man said two black males attacked him while he was standing in the doorway of his shop. The men pushed him back into his shop, punched him and hit him over the head with a bat. The men then stole his wallet and left the store, the release states. He was treated by emergency medical services.

The victim said both men were young. The man with the bat was tall and wore black and beige shorts and a grey T-shirt. The other was wearing blue jeans.
