Tyler ISD is asking the community to provide feedback about key issues through a Strategic Plan Survey launched today.

School district employees, students, parents and community members are invited to respond to the questionnaire, which will influence district decisions about issues such as curriculum, communication and resource allocation, according to a TISD news release.

"Our stakeholders' voices play a vital role in the development of our strategic goals," TISD Superintendent Gary Mooring said, according to the news release.

"In order to ensure that our students are prepared to be productive citizens, we must all work together to provide our teachers and students with the resources and learning environment they need to be successful."

District employees, parents and community members who have provided their email address to TISD will receive an invitation via email to participate in the survey.

The survey also will be available on the school district website at tylerisd.org. Those without Internet access can call the district's communication office at 903-262-1064 to request a paper copy, according to the news release.

Responses will be anonymous and confidential in an effort to gain candid feedback and widespread participation.

The survey will be available until Nov. 15. The results will be collected and shared with the district's Strategic Plan Action Teams, whose members will use the data as they form action plans to accomplish designated objectives, according to the news release.

As those teams write the strategic plan, they will seek regular feedback from the community on each of the plan's components, until February 2014, according to the news release. The district's mission statement will then be revised to reflect the current goals and challenges.

"This is an exciting time of growth and change," Mooring said, according to the news release. "And with the ongoing support of each of our stakeholders, we will continue meeting the challenges of today and transform our district into a model for the nation."
