Tyler Archery Club to host fundraiser shoot for East Texas Veterans Alliance

The Tyler Archery Club will be hosting a fundraiser shoot for the East Texas Veterans Alliance on Nov. 12. East Texas Veterans Alliance is a local non-profit charity that helps military veterans and their families adjust back to civilian life by strengthening the network of community based resources for them. ETVA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, and all donations are tax-deductible.
The Tyler Archery Club is a volunteer-based archery sports club established in the mid-1990s. Club shoots take place at 10197 Adam Henry Road, on the north side of State Highway 64 East, and across the highway from the Oil Palace. The club hosts approximately 6 club shoots plus several state qualifier and indoor shoots held at Gander Mountain. The shoots are mostly 3-D format, in which three-dimensional foam animal targets are placed at various distances in the woods. Targets have scoring rings impressed into the foam, but the rings are usually not visible, so the archer must know where to aim based on features of the target. Traditional “spot” targets are also used.
Sponsorship is $200 for one target. There will be 30 targets available and sponsors will have a sign with their logo in front of the target lane.
“In kind” sponsorships are available in the club registration area for those who wish to donate prizes such as gift cards or products. In-kind sponsors will be listed on a sign next to the registration table.
Almost 100 shooters are anticipated for the event.
