Two defendants pleaded guilty to charges of injury to a child with intent to cause bodily harm and were sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Eric Dewayne Morrison pled guilty to causing serious bodily harm to a child under the age of 14 by twisting the leg until it broke.

Charles James Faurot pled guilty to sexual assault of a child and was sentenced to the maximum of 20 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Faurot sexually assaulted a child under the age of 17.

The Wood County District Attorney’s Office expresses its gratitude to Investigator Kyle Henson of the Wood County Sheriff’s Office for his diligent efforts in both cases. The office of the District Attorney also thanks the Gilmer Police Department for their work on the case involving Mr. Morrison.
