Diane Rose, who is known as The Blind Quilter, will be the guest speaker at a Quilters Guild of East Texas meeting 10 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Church, 4202 S. Broadway Ave. in Tyler.
Guests are invited to attend.
Vision-impaired with glaucoma all her life, Rose became blind as a result of an accident in 1984, four days before she was to undergo a cornea transplant, said information on her website.
She gives motivational talks both within and beyond the context of her ministry, Diane Rose Ministries.
She has worked in Nashville as a journalist covering the country music industry and has made quilts for Loretta Lynn and other country music stars, the information said.
She encourages people not let obstacles stand in their way.
