Salvation Army fan drive continues through Friday

Residents are being asked to participate in The Salvation Army’s fan drive this year.
East Texas Refrigeration is partnering with the nonprofit group to collect 100 fans by Friday.
East Texas Refrigeration will match every donation made through its company this week.
Each summer The Salvation Army in Tyler gives about 60 new fans a week, which means that more than 1,000 fans are needed during the summer months, according to the news release.
Fans may be dropped off in the Lowe’s parking lot from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday at 5720 S. Broadway Ave.
Participants also can make an online donation to the “Beat the Heat Fan Drive” by visiting www.etrtyler.com and clicking on the “Beat the Heat” icon. All online donations will go directly to The Salvation Army in Tyler.
New fans also may be dropped off this week at East Texas Refrigeration on 4700 Old Troup Highway or The Salvation Army at 633 North Broadway Ave., Building 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
