Rusk County Sheriff’s Narcotics makes drug, firearms arrests

The Rusk County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division recently executed three controlled substance search warrants, which resulted in the seizure of several drugs, firearms, currency and arrests.
On June 16, a controlled substance search warrant was executed at the residence of Jonathan Swindell, 34, on Rusk County Road 4114 in the Carlisle community. Officers confiscated suspected methamphetamine, suspected MDMA (ecstasy) and numerous items of suspected drug paraphernalia.
Swindell and Traci Berry, 23, of Henderson were arrested at the scene. Swindell was charged with possession of a controlled substance in penalty group I (methamphetamine), a third degree felony; and possession of a controlled substance in penalty group II (MDMA), a third degree felony.
Additional charges are pending on Swindell for delivery of a controlled substance in penalty group I, according to the sheriff’s office.
Berry was charged with possession of a controlled substance in penalty group I, a state jail felony.
On June 19, a controlled substance search warrant was executed at the residence of Jerry Warren, 34, on Rusk County Road 4132.
Officers confiscated suspected methamphetamine, numerous drug paraphernalia, a prohibited weapon (zip-gun), a suspected stolen television and a stolen Suzuki motorcycle.
Warren and Amanda Dickerson, 30, of Henderson, were both arrested.
Warren was charged with possession of a controlled substance in penalty group I (methamphetamine), a third degree felony. Additional charges are pending on Warren for theft (possession of stolen property), the sheriff’s office stated.
Dickerson was arrested on an outstanding warrant for theft. Additional charges of possession of a prohibited weapon (zip-gun) also are pending on Dickerson, authorities said.
On June 23, a controlled substance search warrant was executed at the Curtis Howard residence on Rusk County Road 1114 in the Laird Hill Community.
Officers confiscated suspected methamphetamine, suspected MDMA (ecstasy), suspected marijuana, five firearms, U.S. currency and drug paraphernalia.
Howard, 31, and James Dennis, 34, both of Kilgore were arrested.
Howard was charged with manufacture/delivery of a substance in penalty group I (methamphetamine), a first degree felony; and possession of a controlled substance in penalty group II (MDMA), a third degree felony.
Dennis was charged with possession of a controlled substance in penalty group I (methamphetamine), a state jail felony. Additional charges of delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon are pending against Howard, according to the sheriff’s office.
Rusk County Court at Law Judge Chad Dean issued all search warrants.
The search warrants and arrests are the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, Rusk County District Attorney’s Office, Henderson Police Department Narcotics Division and the East Texas Auto Theft Task Force. The Rusk County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Unit and Henderson Police Department Tactical Unit executed the warrants. Rusk County Child Protective Services also assisted with the investigation.
