A cold front and rain put a damper on the start of the holiday shopping season this weekend.

Most of East Texas was under a flash flood warning until 6 a.m. Sunday, with the National Weather Service predicting 1 to 2 inches of rain for Tyler. Measurements showed .72 inches fell on Friday.

At 4.93 inches for the month to date, Tyler is 1.23 inches over what is considered normal for the month. For the year, Tyler is up 14.08 inches, with the total sitting at 55.23 as of Friday.

The rain is expected to continue through Monday morning, with a slight chance of rain through the rest of the week. Low temperatures should remain in the 40s through the end of the week.
