Grassroots America to HOST official of GUN owners of America/Texas

Executive Director Rachel Malone of Gun Owners of America/Texas will be the speaker at Grassroots America’s meeting July 23.



The meeting is scheduled for 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Holiday Inn South, 5701 S. Broadway Ave. A $10 buffet will open at 5:30 p.m. for those who wish to dine.

Malone will make the case that the Texas Legislature is falling behind other states in restoring and advancing gun rights. Grassroots America works with GOA/Texas to support Second Amendment rights and advancing firearms freedom.

Malone is the Texas director for Gun Owners of America, spearheading the group’s work in the Legislature. The nationally certified firearms instructor teaches defensive handgun and rifle courses.

The public is welcome to attend the meeting at no cost.

STATE LEGISLATORS WILL ADDRESS meeting of Smith County Republican Women

The Smith County Republican Women will host state Reps. Matt Schaefer and Cole Hefner, who will review the recent 86th legislative session.

The event will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Potpourri House. Lunch is available for $11. The public is invited.
