Palestine runoff election brings new leadership to City Council

Dana Goolsby has won the runoff for Palestine City Council District 5.
Goolsby, a political newcomer, defeated incumbent Doug Smith in Saturday’s election. The vote was 146 to 95.
Goolsby will be sworn in to the council on June 25.
