UT Health Northeast will host an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the UT Health Northeast-North Tyler Clinic, 2231 W. Gentry Parkway.
The North Tyler Clinic now has a newly renovated and expanded health clinic to serve the surrounding community. The open house includes refreshments, tours and a chance to meet the clinic’s doctor and other providers.
The North Tyler expansion follows UT Health’s opening of two new clinics in Lindale last November; a family medicine clinic and an allergy and immunology clinic.
“The North Tyler Clinic has long needed additional medical services, and I am proud to say that UT Health will be meeting that need,” UT Health President Dr. Kirk Calhoun said. “Our new and beautifully renovated space will provide a family medical home to those who live in the surrounding neighborhoods. Today is a great day.”
The North Tyler Clinic accepts Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield and most commercial insurance. A free shuttle service also is available to take patients from the clinic to the main UT Health campus and back, should patients need to see a specialist.
Amber Cook, MD, is a physician at the North Tyler Clinic.
“I have been very blessed to be able to be a part of the amazing things UT Health is doing in the North Tyler Clinic,” said Dr. Cook. “Having grown up in a single-parent household with lapses in insurance, I wanted to be sure my role as a physician could include advocacy for those who currently experience the things I experienced. My hope and prayer for this clinic is that it will continue to impact the lives of those who live nearby for the present and future to come.”
Other providers at the clinic include Sunita Karki, FNP-C, Christie Osuagwu, FNP-C, PhD, and Toni Richey, CNM.
