A motorcyclist died Thursday morning after a wreck on Loop 323 just west of Texas College.

Witnesses said the motorcyclist was travelling at a high rate of speed when it wrecked with a UT Health Northeast bus just after 8 a.m. Thursday, according to Tyler Police Department Public Information Officer Don Martin.

The motorcyclist was identified as Debenaire Julian-Lemark Bell, 22, of Tyler.

Bell was travelling westbound and lost control of his motorcyle, causing him to cross the median and strike the bus in the eastbound lanes.

Bell was wearing a helmet, but was thrown from the bike on impact. The driver of the bus was not injured, and no passengers were on board.

KYTX CBS19 contributed to this report.
