Got an vehicle taking up space in your driveway? Students at Mineola High School might take it off of your hands.
The Mineola ISD Auto Tech department is seeking donations of vehicles for students to practice and sharpen their skills through relevant, hand-on learning.
The district is accepting vehicles that are 1997 or newer and have not been wrecked. Cars must come with a title and be restorable in order for a receipt to be issued. The Auto Tech department will restore and sell the donated cars in order to provide funds to purchase parts and supplies for future projects.
The program will help as many as 28 students earn one or more ASE certifications.
The Auto Tech students are also able to perform other automotive maintenance and repair such as oil changes, wheel alignments and other services for a minimum fee. Contact instructor Shelby Turner for information and scheduling, turners@mineolaisd.net or call 903-569-2448.
